In motion
Damn… went to bed when it was dark, woke up and it’s still dark.
So anyway, we did it. We. Polar Shift. Had our first show. Melted the faces off roughly 20 south jersey kids. Damn it was awesome. Fuck the numbers, it felt good. I only had my amp at 4 and it was causing tremors. Poor kids had no idea what to even think having this colossal wall of fuzz and chains and mud and hell thrown at them in the middle of their pop punk show. Terror.
Overall: not bad. Mike, Steve, Tyler and I only had a couple days to pull it together. We sure as shit did. For our first time playing as a band together we sounded incredibly tight. After recording the record in separate sessions I was a little skeptical on how things would go at rehearsal. I was a fool. We killed it. Ran through the entire set and looked around at eachother like “Well fuck yeah, we definitely have something here”.
I took some shots with an analog camera so I’ll get those up sometime. Also video recorded the show in HD which is being mixed and edited and will be up soon. Myspace and .com are on the way. Not a bad start. Hell yeah.

I can imagine working with this photo for Polar Shift’s second release. What you are looking at is the Necron Super Collider, which will one day swallow planet Earth.

From the meat shop...
Great fucking news! We FINALLY hooked up with an artist to work on Crow River, Polar Shift’s first record. His name is Adam Peterson who has also worked with various recording artists including Neurosis (check out the “Times of Grace” cover). He’s also going to help with creating a logo for Man Made Meat. It’s going to be really fucking brutal! I know things got a little stagnant with this little project, but it’s a lesson learned. Be on top of your shit, and shit takes TIME. There’s hardly any instant gratification with what I’m tring to occomplish with this Label. It’s going to be a slow, hard grind to get the name of Polar Shift and Man Made Meat out there. Right now we’re looking at a mid-late November release for Crow River.
In other news I’m getting a small team together (basically close friends and nerdy family members) of neo-maxi-zoom-dwebies to start working on Viral content. We’re going to polish up this Tumblr when we get logos, create a MySpace so you can stream music and get show updates (because that’s all it’s good for anymore), and get an official .com for merch, bios, interviews, exlcusive content and all that yazz. I’m aiming to have a solid foundation down by the beginning of 2010. With that will come more updates, more shows, some merch, maybe some limited prints hmm? hmm?
So, things started slow, but for good reason. My focuses have been on Gym Class Heroes and the new record which we are keeping our lips tight about. I can give a little hint. It’s the album die-hard fans have been waiting for for almost 5 years, SO GET STOKED!!! Aside from that we have a lot of down time coming up so I can focus more making Man Made Meat more official. CHEERS!!!
